This test checks for exposure to Tuberculosis bacteria. TB Skin Test is a two-part appointment:

Appointment 1 (Tubersol administration): Injecting a small amount of tuberculin purified protein derivative (PPD) into the skin of the forearm.

Appointment 2 (TB Reading): After 48-72 hours, a healthcare provider checks and measures the injection site for a bump or induration. The size of the induration will determine your results.

TB test is recommended for individuals at higher risk of TB infection, such as those with weakened immune systems, close contacts of TB patients, and people from regions with high TB prevalence. Positive test results may require further diagnostic procedures, like a chest X-ray, to confirm active TB disease.
